Manchester United book their place in the FA Cup fourth round after a dominant 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic, who were somewhat fortunate to escape with a narrow defeat as the Red Devils struggled in front of goal.  Ten Hag’s side dominated the first half, barring Aasgaard’s glorious third-minute opportunity, and headed in at half-time 1-0 up thanks to Dalot’s 22nd-minute opener that came from a fine curling finish into the bottom-right corner.  Hojlund missed two presentable chances in the opening period, while Rashford and McTominay perhaps should have scored, too. Ten-man Chelsea hold on to get a vital home win as they beat Brighton 3-2. The Blues made a perfect start to the game, with two corners causing Brighton all sorts of problems.  Fernandez headed in his first Premier League goal from the first, while Colwill thumped in his first Chelsea goal to double their tally.  That lead was halved just before the break, with Buonanotte curling in a wonderful strike before Gallagher received his second yellow card.  Fernandez got his second of the game in the 65th minute from the spot after Milner fouled Mudryk, and it took Brighton until stoppage time to pull back another, with Pedro flicking it in at the near post.  In the dying moments, the referee awarded a spot-kick to the Seagulls for handball, but it was overturned by VAR.
