Manchester United started the game on the front foot and took the lead after just nine minutes as Casemiro scored a bicycle kick from close range. 

The visitors dominated for the majority of the first half, but Solanke did force a good save from De Gea late on. 

The United goalkeeper proved to be even more vital in the second half as he kept out good chances from both Moore and Brooks. 

The Cherries threw everything they had at an equaliser, but the Red Devils held on for a 1-0 win.
